CARES operates shops on the Medical Center grounds that provide a service to our patients, their families, visitors, and to the employees. The profits from these shops are dedicated to programs that benefit patients at the LAC+USC Medical Center.

The CARES Gift Shop and Coffee Bar, located in the new Diagnostic and Treatment Building (in the same building on the floor above the emergency waiting room) are scheduled to open in June 2009. CARES Gift Shop has a selection of medical center logo items, fresh flowers, See’s candies, greeting cards, balloons, cold beverages, sundries, and a variety of snacks, including healthy choices. The gift items include seasonal decorative items, practical gifts, sports memorabilia, variety of plush, toys, reading material, and lots of other lovely gifts.




CARES Coffee Bar creates a fragrant aroma from the freshly ground & brewed coffee as one enters the shop. All pastries are baked fresh daily. A combination of deli sandwiches and freshly tossed salads are available during lunchtime, however they sell out quickly, so come early. In the late afternoon, a “banana strawberry” smoothie is a great energizing treat. Catering is available with a 48 hour notice for delivery within the medical center. CARES Treasure Trove/Thrift Shop is located in Barracks “G” behind the General Hospital Building next to Parking Lot D.  Parking available for one hour only for drop-off of donations or shopping in parking lot E.  All donations are tax deductible.  Three spaces are labeled “Thrift Shop”.  Walk up the steps from parking lot E, located off Zonal Ave.  Barracks G/ CARES Treasure Trove/Thrift Shop is located at the top of the stairs.

All profits go directly to help patient programs.

Hours available for your shopping convenience: Monday, Tuesday, Friday 10-3 and Wednesday and Thursday 10-4.
